MEETING OF THE BOARD EASTSIDE VFW, ST. CLOUD SATURDAY APRIL 17, 2010
Meeting called to order by President Richter at 10:00 AM
Roll call showed all directors present
Motion Brennan, seconded Kreger, carried, to approve the minutes of the March meeting with corrections made. The Dent Bulldogs were reinstated for the 2010 season.
Motion Roufs, seconded Barry, carried, to reinstate Aaron Siefken for the 2010 season.
Motion Forsman, seconded Hartmann, carried, to approve the Pro Player Questionnaire of Kyle Collins to play for Avon only if he can show legal proof of his residence. This must be approved by State Secretary before he is eligible. Roufs opposed the motion.
The board took no action at this time on the eligibility of Todd Bergstrom. Bergstrom must appear in front of the board showing proof why he should be eligible to play for New Market.
Motion Hartmann, seconded Roufs, carried, to reinstate Duluth back into the MBA program for the 2010 season.
Sam Rothstein has returned to St. Martin and will be eligible for the 2010 season.
Motion Roufs, seconded Zellmann, carried, to deny the eligibility of Shane O'Keefe to play for St. Nicholas. O'Keefe could not show legal residence, as he lives in California with his parents while going to High School. He spends the summer months at his Grandparents lake cabin with his parents at St. Nicholas.
Motion Kreger, seconded Rademacher, carried, to approve David Borchardt to play in the Mink Collegiate League in Omaha, return to Albertville Villains for post season play only if he secures his (4) game eligibility.
The board approved the request of David Hatle to play for Canastota, S.D. and also Searles in Minnesota. Hatle can not play against an MBA team while on the Canastota team.
Motion Barry, seconded Rademacher, carried, to approve a (5) mile player radius extension for the Land O'Ducks leagues for the 2010 season.
Motion Forsman seconded Kreger, carried, to approve the following players to play in the 2nd Twin City Wood Bat Tournament. Matt Tschida, Grant Mchwinkel, Lance Anderson, Dave Molde, Dave Neudecker, Loren Sjoquist, Jon Rademacher, Darren Mccathron, Billy Hamilton, Jason Kirschman, Justin Wallace, Luther Kangas, Willy Walsh.
Motion Forsman, seconded Barry, carried, to approve Tournament Sanctions-(Dundas) 6/4-6/10, (Detroit Lakes) 6/9-13/10, (Hibbing) 6/18-20/10, (Cannon Falls) 6/9-13/10, (Hamburg/Green Isle) 6/24-27/10, (Hinckley) 6/25-27/10, (Rum River) 6/25-27/10, (Shakopee Indians) 7/16-17/10.
Motion Rademacher, seconded Kreger, carried, to approve teams to play non-NMA teams:
(New York Mills) Appleton, WI (Bluffton) Appleton, ) WI (Rum River) Exeland, Wl (Milroy) Brookings, SD (East Bethel) Osceola, (Dundas) Bay City, Prescott (Detroit Lakes) Teams in their tournament to be eligible to play Jamestown Elks, Jamestown Merchants, Fargo Mets. (Hinckley) Teams in their tournament to play Superior (St. Patrick) Exeland, Bayside (Stewartville/Racine) Onalaska, Osceola (Woodburg Legends) Osceola (Red Rooster) Osceola (Marshal "A') Renner, Brookings (Dumont) Fairmount, ND, Fargo Mantador, Britton SD (Cannon Falls) Hager City, River Falls, Mpls Cubs (Green Isle/Hamburg) Teams in their tournament to play Brookings (Blaine) St. Croix, New Richmond (St. Paul Capitals) NBC Upper Midwest Reg.-Banor, M
Motion Roufs, seconded Forsman, carried, to approve the Class "A" All Star roster that will play the St. Paul Saints.
Tournament chairman Mary Swatzky from Willmar and Mike Nagel from Bird Island told the board there are a few things still to be completed, but otherwise the parks are taking great shape. Nagel mentioned that they are planning on having a Tony Olivia Day at all parks.
The Class "B" Championship game will be at Bird Island. The Class "C" Championship game will be at Willmar.
The board next met with Section and Region Commissioners. A proposed alignment was presented to the Commissioners for their approval. After reviewing the Class "B" sections, motion Mike Kieke, seconded Dan Plein, carried, to approve the Class "B" format.
After reviewing the Class "C" alignment there was some discussion on one region. A motion by Randy Schoenberg, seconded Paul Froncak, carried, to approve the Class "C" format.

Motion Hartman, seconded Barry, carried, to approve the Central Valleys player eligibility and radius format.
The next meeting of the MBA will be May 8th at the Holiday Inn, St. Cloud. (11:00 AM)
There being no further business to come before the board. Motion Barry, seconded Forsman, carried, to adjourn. Adjournment coming at 2:00 PM.
