Meeting called to order by President Richter at 10:00 a.m.

Roll call showed all Directors present.

Motion Brennan, seconded Wegscheid, carried, to accept the minutes of the previous meeting as mailed.

Motion Forsman, seconded Wegscheid, carried, to disapprove a request by Ryan Theiss to play with a team in the Brainerd area other than the Brainerd Braves. This in accordance with the resident rule.

Motion Roufs, seconded Barry, carried, to reinstate Eric Scott to be eligible for the 2007 season to play for Soderville.

Motion Wegscheid, seconded Rademacher, carried, to approve Dan Baker to play for Eden Prairie. Baker goes to school in South Carolina and lives with his father during the school year. In the summer months, he lives in Minnesota with his mother.

Motion Barry, seconded Hartmann, carried, to deny the request of Bryan Loehlein, who is under contract with Chisago Lakes to play for another team part-time. They are not a member of the MBA.

Motion Forsman, seconded Rademacher, carried, to deny the request of Eric Crane to play for Norwood in accordance with the resident rule.

The Board met with Chad Eischens, who represented the Northwest Umpire Ass’n. The Board told Eischens overall, they were very happy with the professional manner in which Northwest operates. However, there was some concern with a few umpires that took place at last year’s State Tournament during a lengthy rain delay. Eischens agreed with the Board and would see that it would get addressed. Eischens told the Board they are having clinics and have invited other Umpire Associations to attend. They are hoping to work in a few younger umpires for the coming season.

Motion Forsman, seconded Hartmann, carried, to pay $180.00 per game for two men for State Tournament games.

Motion Hartmann, seconded Barry, carried, to approve Brent Hoffmann, to play for Garden of Gears team of Pacific Southwest League. He is eligible to return to Webster for post season play, providing he meets his (4) game eligibility.

The Pro Player Questionnaire on Matt VanDerBosch to play for Miesville was tabled until all releases are received.

Motion Roufs, seconded Hartmann, carried, to approve Chris Swiathiewicz to play for the Prior Lake Jays, providing he gets his release from Savage and the Prior Lake Mudcats.

Motion Roufs, seconded Wegscheid, carried, to approve the Pro Questionnaire of Derek Dormanen to be eligible to play for Midway for the 2007 season.

Motion Barry, seconded Hartmann, carried, to approve Justin McKinley to return to Dassel Cokato. He played for the River City Rascals.

Motion Hartmann, seconded Wegscheid, carried, to approve the (12) game schedule of the Brainerd Lightning for player eligibility.

Motion Wegscheid, seconded Brennan, carried, to approve Pat lenton to play in summer college league in New York, return to Blaine for post season play providing he meets his (4) game eligibility.

Motion Wegscheid, seconded Rademacher, carried, to extend the player radius for Isle in the Eastern Minny League, from 25 to (35 miles).

The board next met with Section and Region Commissioners. There were 19 commissioners in attendance, V.P. Roufs presented to the commissioners, the Region and Section Alignment. He explained the changes and why they were made. Leo Wirth questioned the Alignment and would hope some changes could be made in years to come. A motion by Kieke Section #7, seconded by Hintzmann Region #14, carried, to approve the Regions and Sections for 2007. Voting against: Leo Wirth Region #11.

A letter was received from Marlin Reinardy, Region 3C Commissioner, regarding the possibility of the Classic Cannon Valley League moving to an 8-team region in Class B for the year 2008. There was also a proposal which would allow a change in the drafting process that would correlate to an eight-team region in Class B. This would involve a change in the rules and will be discussed in the future.

Motion Rademacher, seconded Barry, carried, to approve Tournament Sanctions for – Howard Lake 6/22-23/07, New Prague 6/1-3/07, Stockman’s 6/21-24/07, Luverne 6/22-24/07, St. Cloud 6/8-10/07, Gaylord 6/17/07, Arlington-Green Isle 6/14-17/07, Bemidji 6/8-10/07, Red Wing 6/14-17/07.

Next meeting of the MBA will be May 12, 2007, at the Norwood Sports Complex, Norwood, MN., at 2:00 p.m.

There was no other business to come before the board. Motion Rademacher, seconded Brennan, carried, to adjourn at 3:00 p.m.
