Minutes of the Board Meeting

Meeting called to order by Vice President Fischer at 10:00 p.m.

Roll call showed all Directors present.

Motion Brennan, seconded Wegscheid, carried, to accept the minutes of the previous meeting as mailed.

Motion Fiemeyer, seconded Wegscheid, carried, to approve the pro player questionnaire of Scott Threinen to play for Kasson.

Motion Richter, seconded Wegscheid, carried, to disapprove the pro player questionnaire of Christopher Rupert to play for Mankato Twins. (However) Christopher will be allowed to play for the New Ulm Kaiserhoff the last team he played with in the MBA. Ruling on this matter can be found in the MBA Handbook page 14 (G).

Motion Roufs, seconded Forsman, carried, to approve the pro player questionnaire of John Kaminski to play for a college team in Melville, Saskatchewan, return to Waseca for post season play providing he meets his four game eligibility.

Motion Wegscheid, seconded Brennan, carried, to approve Matt Ziela to play for a select team in Holland, return to Blaine for post-season play providing he meets his four game eligibility.

Motion Richter, seconded Brennan, carried, to approve Nate Hebrink to play for the USA team in Europe, return to Raymond for post-season play, providing he meets his four game eligibility.

Motion Forsman, seconded Richter, carried to approve Joe Anthonson to play in the Cape Cod league, return to Hastings for post season play, providing he meets his four game eligibility.

Motion Fiemeyer, seconded Wegscheid, carried to approve John Schaffler to play with the USA team in the Europe, return to LeSueur for post-Season play, providing he meets his four game eligibility.

Motion Brennan, seconded Richter, carried to approve Joe Calaguire to play for the Duluth Huskies of the Northwoods league, return to Marble for post-season play, providing he meets his four game eligibility.

Motion Forsman, seconded Brennan, carried to approve Tom Simonson and Brandon Schwartz to play for the Duluth Huskies of the Northwoods league, return to Duluth Express for post-Season play, providing they meet their four game eligibility.

Motion Richter, seconded Roufs, carried to approve Nate Meissner to play for the Alexandria Beetles return to Brandon/Evansville for post-season play, providing he meets his four game eligibility.

Motion Wegscheid, seconded Forsman, carried to approve Kevin Dixon to play for the Mankato Moondogs, return to the Mankato Twins for post-Season play, providing he meets his four game eligibility.

Motion Forsman, seconded Wegscheid, carried to approve Dean Loew to play with the USA team in Amsterdam, return to Hinckley for post-Season play, providing he meets his four game eligibility.

Motion Richter, seconded Fiemeyer, carried to approve the following teams to play for non MBA teams:
(Moorhead Brewers) Grand Forks Gerells, Fargo Pistols, Jamestown Mert., Jamestown Elks, Enderlin, ND, Brookings, Dell Rapids, S.D.
(Ortonville) Clear Lake
(Hastings) Eau Claire, Prescott, WI.
(Pipestone) Flandreau, Dell Rapids, Renner, S.D.

Motion Zellman, seconded Odman, carried, to approve tournament sanctions for: Mpls. Park National 6/18-20/04, Cold Spring Rockies 6/19/04, Dundas 6/5-6/04, Belle Plaine 6/12-13/04, Sobieski 6/19-20/04.

Motion Roufs, seconded Wegscheid, carried, a fun night baseball game, Fairfax vs. Stark. Two retired Minnesota Twins will play two innings. High school players will not be allowed to play due to high school eligibility rule found in the MBA handbook on page 24.

A letter from Joe Serratore requesting a radius extension for Grant Lunning, who lives in LeRoy, Minnesota. LeRoy is out of the radius of any MBA team. Motion Richter, seconded Wegscheid, carried, to approve Lunning to play for the Austin Greyhounds. Should there be any other players from LeRoy that want to play in the MBA, they must also be approved by the board.

Motion Richter, seconded Brennan, carried to approve the request from the Arrowhead league to allow Ely and Virginia to merge, they will be called (MESABI). Both team rosters will be frozen, all players must sign new contracts. Virginia will be home base for the player radius. Any new players from Ely must get state board approval.

After a short break, the meeting was called back to order by President Odman.

The board met with commissioners to set up regions and sections. An outline of the proposed regions and sections were handed out for commissioners to go over for comment, with no changes made a motion by Froncak, Victory leagues, seconded Radermacher, Land O’ Ducks leagues, carried, to approve the regions and sections for the 2004 season. Commissioners in attendance, sections 1, 2, 4, 7, 8; regions 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 15, 16.

Reminder: Deadline for contracts and releases June 30. Secretaries must then turn in all contracts and releases no later than July 7, 2004.

With no further business, motion Fiemeyer, seconded Forsman, carried to adjourn. Adjournment coming at 1:00 p.m.

Next meeting of the MBA July 10, at Belle Plaine, 3:00 p.m.
