MINNESOTA BASEBALL ASSOCIATION, INC.

MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL BOARD MEETING WEDNESDAY, June 21, 2006 at CROSSROADS IN NORWOOD

The special meeting of the MBA was called to order by President Richter at 6 p.m.

All directors were present.

The reason for this meeting was to select a new site for the 2006 State Tournament, due to the action the MBA Board handed down to Rochester by removing them from hosting the 2006 tournament.

There were seven sites present that submitted their bids. They were Red Wing-Miesville, St. Cloud, Dundas-Northfield, Brownton-Glencoe, D.C.-Maple Lake, Austin, and Rochester.

Each site picked a number in which order they presented their bid. After each presentation, questions could be asked by the board.

President Richter then asked everyone to leave the room so the board could go into closed session to go over bid presentation, and select a site.

After the board completed their meeting, everyone was asked to return.

President Richter addressed Rochester, saying that the decision the board made Saturday, June 17, removing the state tournament from Rochester has not changed. However, we do encourage Rochester to come back in January and rebid.

President Richter thanked all the sites that bid on such short notice, saying the presentations were all great.

We hope to see all of you in January when we bid for years 2010, 2011, and 2012.

Remember, if you have interest in bidding, you must have your letter in to Secretary Zellmann by the end of the 2006 State Tournament.

The 2006 State Tournament was awarded to Red Wing-Miesville.

Motion Roufs, seconded Wegscheid, carried to approve Bill Denet to play for the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks, return to Eagan for post- season play, only if he meets his four- game eligibility.

Sanction tournament was approved for Sauk Rapids Cyclones 6/24/06.

The next meeting of the MBA will be at Treasure Island, in Red Wing, Saturday, July 15 at 1 p.m.

There were more than 63 dedicated baseball supporters at the meeting. We thank all of you.

Being no further business, motion Forsman, seconded Wegscheid to adjourn at 8:50 p.m.
