Subject: player eligibility
Purpose: allow Richmond to appeal to the Minnesota State Board on the ruling handed down to them by the Stearns County South League on Sunday, July 11, 2004. This ruling was based on Richmond using a player (Kasey Drontle) in a game on July 4, who was released from their roster but played him anyway, knowing that he was not on the final 20 player roster. The league vote was 4-1, not to allow Richmond to participate in post-season play.
The board was addressed by Paul Sand and Art Schlangen, who went over the proceedings to protest, Jason Spohn of Richmond supplied the board with information defending their case. They also answered many questions by the board.
There was a motion by Richter, seconded by Wegscheid, carried to up-hold the ruling by the Stearns County South League making Richmond ineligible for post-season play in 2004. One addition was added, no player from Richmond will be eligible to be drafted. The vote was 8-0 in favor.
President Odman thanked all the parties present and wished them luck in the future. Richmond will have to appear before the board before the start of the 2005 season to be reinstated.
Motion Forsman, seconded Fischer to allow Lake City to play Winona.
Motion Forsman, seconded Fiemeyer, carried to adjourn. Adjournment coming at 7:15.
